CeRCA was formed in 1996 as part of a movement to contract the Urban Services Area (USA) in Leon County. This was the first successful reduction of a USA within Florida. The cost of providing Urban Services to large areas of the county is a continual burden on taxpayers and repeated studies have shown that there is sufficient land within the USA to accommodate the next 100 years of growth.
CeRCA has continued to advocate our members views on growth, traffic, open space preservation and other issues important to the rural type lifestyle of the area.
